Egypt Post & Mobile Banking: Yes or No?

September 2009: Youm7 news website quoted Eng. Alaa Fahmy (Head of Egypt Post) saying that they analyzed money transfer service via mobile phones 2 years ago, and it had been found not feasible. He added that if service would be applied in Egypt, then it will not affect Egypt Post market share [in money transfer operations].

February 2010: The ruling party NDP website quoted Dr. Ashraf Zaki (New head of Egypt Post) saying they are preparing for launching money transfer service via mobile phones. He said Egypt Post is in an experimental phase in order to implement mobile banking.
